BIRTH REVOLUTION

Midwifery Based cARE to support healthy preconception, pregnancy, BIRTH & POSTPARTUM

As a Licensed Midwife who has helped guide hundreds of people through preconception, pregnancy, birth and postpartum, I fuse traditional midwifery knowledge with contemporary medical practices. I believe education and informed consent instill the confidence necessary to embrace your journey with strength and empowerment, resulting in lower intervention rates, and healthier birth outcomes both physically and mentally. Using a comprehensive approach, we delve into trimester based hot topics rooted in empowering you to become an advocate for yourself and your baby. Each appointment we will monitor you and your baby’s vitals (for in-person visits), discuss optimal nutrition, emotions, prenatal discomforts, testing options, birth choices, postpartum expectations, breast/chest feeding support and education, and newborn care. You will gain a wealth of knowledge and unyielding support in a nurturing environment. Most importantly, care is tailored to meet your individual needs. For some, care may start at preconception. For others, complete parallel prenatal and postpartum care is desired. Or, maybe an appointment every trimester, and more support during the postpartum stage, is what you are looking for. Your body, your path, your choice!

FAQ’S & pOLICIES

  • I understand that navigating the complexities of the healthcare system can be challenging, and I strive to offer a different approach at NaturaVita. My primary goal is to prioritize the well-being of my clients and provide them with the best possible care without being limited by insurance restrictions. Regrettably, insurance providers do not offer reimbursement for the in-depth, personalized, midwifery model of care. I value transparency and strive to maintain affordable and upfront pricing for my services with payment expected at the time of each visit.

  • Standard prenatal bloodwork run through LabCorp is usually covered by PPO insurance plans minus your co-payment (if applicable). I advise calling your insurance provider prior to our appointment and ask what they will cover and what you will be responsible for.

  • Both in-person and virtual appointments are options for your care. One difference in services is a comprehensive physical exam and/or gynecological exam is an option for in-person appointments only. As well as monitoring mother and baby’s vitals.

  • While standard pregnancy care appointments average about 15 minutes, we will be together for 60-90 minutes. This extended time allows us to delve into all the hot topics: body changes and ailments, nutrition, supportive herbs and supplements, testing options, vaccines, breast/chest feeding, circumcision, sibling integration, emotions, birth choices, healing from previous births, co-sleeping, newborn interventions and care- to just name a few…

  • While I am licensed to be a primary care provider for midwifery services, I am currently not attending births. Therefore, all clients are required to have a designated primary care provider for their pregnancy as I do not provide on-call or birth services. Also, communication from the office might take up to 48 hours to receive a response.

Many clients find it helpful to share their records from their primary care provider with me so that there is continuity in care and to gain the most out of working together.

  • Currently, there is a growing emphasis on safeguarding patient privacy and protected health information (PHI) through the implementation of various laws. As a result, all scheduling, payments, medical records, educational handouts and communication lines and messaging services, are carefully managed to adhere to the standards outlined in the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) by using Jane EMR.

  • The cancellation policy is a minimum of 48 hours before your scheduled appointment. For example, a Monday appointment would need to be canceled on the prior Thursday. For a first-time cancellation with less than 48 hours notice, clients will be charged a $50 fee. For any other cancellations after that, with less than a 48 hour notice, clients will be charged the full appointment rate.
